DG Move guide: interpretation

Due to numerous inquiries regarding the new approach regarding the replacement of tachograph components contained in the guide issued by DG MOVE, we present a short form of its recommendations:

  1. Exchange of the recording equipment itself
    Mount the recording equipment of 3rd version (EFAS4, DTCO 2.0, SE5000 Exact Duo 7.4 or newer) and activate the IMS signal when possible.
    There is no need to mount a GPS module (GeoLoc, TachoMotion) or other device for generating the 2nd speed signal.
  2. Replacement of the sensor itself
    It is necessary to mount a 3rd version sensor, eg: KITAS 2+
  3. Replacement of the recording device and sensor
    It is necessary to mount the recording equipment and sensor of the 3rd version (EFAS4, DTCO 2.0, SE5000 Exact Duo 7.4 or newer, Kitas 2+) and enable the IMS signal

At the same time, we applied for confirmation to the Polish Office of Measures if their interpretation of the guide is the same.
